MIARQ's main objective is the training of skilled professionals in the pursuit of professional activities in Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Rehabilitation and Building Maintenance. For this, the implementation of the principles underlying the Bologna Process, promote "integrated knowledge" that - not challenging the various disciplinary autonomies, but surpassing its status as mere sums of knowledge - contributes to the formation of a project methodology essential to the practice of architecture in its multiple valences.
Students are encouraged to develop innovative and creative solutions to technical and functional problems, developing sensitivity towards aspects of communication and to specific sociocultural issues. We aim to stimulate the student's ability to communicate the results of their work, demonstrating critical thinking, team working ability, ethical values, citizenship and environmental awareness.
In the two semesters of the 4th year and the first half of the 5th year, the student must choose a profile (among the three listed below), which corresponds to a group of three articulated UCs (Workshop, Seminar and Compulsory) related to the same area.
Profile A - City and Territory
Profile B - Construction and Technology
Profile C - Architectural Culture
In the 7th semester, the student may enroll in any profile, in the 8th semester, the student can only be part of a profile that he/she did not attend during the 7th semester and in the 9th semester the student may re-enroll in any of the profiles. Thus, each student carries out at least one profile change during the course curriculum, ensuring a desirable eclectic training in an Architecture Integrated Master Degree without specialties, but with alternative routes.
