The University of Minho has several libraries at the service of the academic community. The main university libraries are managed by the
Documentation Services: Biblioteca Geral (General Library) on the campus of Gualtar, Biblioteca da U.M. (Library of the University of Minho) in Guimarães, on the campus of Azurém and Biblioteca do Edifício dos Congregados (Library of the Congregados Building).
These librariesmaintain an important documental fund, covering all areas of knowledge, they offer over 700 seats for reading and studying and provide various
services to userssuch as home loans, document request from external sources, reproduction of documents by means of self-service printing, photocopying and scanning, reference service and user training.
In addition to the libraries managed by the Documentation Services, there are other specialised libraries integrated in various units.
Through the bibliographic catalogue it is possible to search the entire documental fund pertaining to all of the University's libraries and the Digital Library area provides access to bibliographic resources in digital format.
