Description

The goal of the Master in Physics degree is providing a background complementary to that of an undergraduate first degree in Physics, Physics Engineering or similar. It aims to graduate people and enable them to perform fundamental or applied research, college teaching or activities in the industry or services. A high performance, innovation and responsibility level is expected. It is intended that a significant fraction of this C2 degree students resume their background in Physics and related areas within a C3 degree, particularly within the MAP-Fis C3. Indeed, one of our aims is allowing the possibility to define new education paths that optimize the interplay between this C2 and the MAP-Fis C3. Hence this Master degree will function in close interaction with the PhD Program of the Universities of Minho, Aveiro and Porto.

Access to higher education

The intention of the Master in Physics, in close collaboration with the Doctoral Program MAP-Fis, is to anticipate new trends of development in key areas and integrate them in the Physical training so that it continues to take a leadership role in technological transformation, particularly in emerging areas. It is assumed that a large part of this C2 graduates continue their education in physics or related areas in the courses C3, in particular, within the C3 MAP-Fis. It is intended so to be able to define learning paths that best optimize this joint C2 with C3 MAP-Fis. The Master proposed here works well in conjunction with such intimate Doctoral Program of the Universities of Minho, Aveiro and Porto. This fully justifies their collaboration with the Master in Physics from the Universities of Aveiro and Porto, regulated by the Protocol, signed by the Universities of Minho, Aveiro and Porto.

Careers

Professionals prepared by this master, could be incorporated in the current policy of innovation and technological development in the North of Portugal, in institutions such as the Technological Centre for the Textile and Clothing Industries of Portugal (CITEVE) in Vila Verde, the Iberian Institute for Nanotechnology Research and Development in Braga and in existing industrial facilities, such as LEICA. It is assumed that a large part of this C2 graduates continue their education in physics or related areas in the courses C3, in particular, within the C3 MAP-Fis.
