The objective of the Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management is to train students with a solid background in basic sciences and engineering sciences, complemented by basic training in engineering and industrial management, in order to ensure a competitive performance of graduates within the scope of productive systems of the organizations. The course provides the acquisition of specific skills that allow the application of engineering methods and scientific management principles to the productive systems of goods and services, aiming at achieving the most effective integration and coordination of company processes, using different types of human resources, material, technical, economic and informational.

Key learning outcomes

At the end of their training, the Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (EGI) is expected to demonstrate skills to:
1. have basic knowledge in EGI to solve real problems;
2. overcome the challenges faced by companies;
3. to promote changes in organizations;
4. to creatively propose the formulation of hypotheses and ideas;
5. to autonomously search for and manage information;
6. communicate effectively;
7. perform teamwork and whenever necessary take the lead.
The EGI graduate must be able to implement and organize production systems, namely in the area of industrial process management, manufacturing, economic engineering, project management and quality. In addition, the graduate in EGI will have robust and solid skills in basic sciences and engineering sciences, and basic skills in Industrial Engineering and Management, which will allow him to identify, understand and critically analyze production systems problems.
