The Guimarães Green Urban DesignDAY (2GUD) is a full day activity and prize competition dedicated to envision and to design innovative and environmentally sustainable solutions for urban mobility in the city of Guimarães.

What: The Guimarães Green Urban DesignDAY (2GUD) is a full day activity and prize competition dedicated to envision and to design innovative and environmentally sustainable solutions for urban mobility in the city of Guimarães.

Why: With a general topic as Green Urban Mobility, one looks to stimulate the participation of people with different backgrounds, from engineers to designers, including architects, sociologists, among many others. The goal is to inspire as many participants as possible but creativity is assumed to be the main driver for this event. The DesignDAY is a concepts/ideas generation activity, essentially based on engineering design principles and methods. The activity is conceived as a contest/competition. Thus, there will be awards, a winner team and the prizes are : - The winner team will be awarded with a certificate and a prize money of €1.500,00; - The 2nd and 3rd placed teams will be awarded with honorable mentions.

When: 12th September 2016

Where: University of Minho, Campus of Azurém - Guimarães

Who: There is no restraints regarding the participants’ required profile. The participation is open to all. The event is engineered by the Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing (EDAM) focus area at UMinho, from the MIT Portugal Program and is supported by the Guimarães European Green Capital application and the Guimarães City Council So, don’t miss this opportunity to participate and be part of the winners’ teams in this 1st edition of this exciting event.
