For the first time, The University of Minho is featured among the best 500 higher education institutions in the world, according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), one of the most prestigious worldwide.
The ARWU, also known as the
Shanghai Ranking, was published for the first time in 2003 by the Jiao Tong University, in Shanghai. This ranking assesses 1200 universities, based upon a consolidated benchmark that favours older institutions.
As such, UMinho cements its place as a higher education institution that stands out with world prestige, a result of its affirmative strategy and of the commitment of its members.
