dst/IB-S Construction Professorship Introduced at UMinho

The “Cátedra dst/IB-S em Construção do Futuro: Automação e Modularização” [dst/IB-S Professorhip in Future Construction: Automation and Modularization” is the result of a partnership between the University of Minho and the dst group.

The partnership will be signed on June 21st at 5.30 p.m., in the UMinho Rectorship in Braga, by the Rector António Cunha, the Chairman of dst José Teixeira, the co-director of UMinho’s Institute of Science and Innovation for Bio-Sustainability (IB-S) Paulo Lourenço and by Vítor Cunha, the head of this professorship. At 6.00 p.m., there will be lectures of the industry’s 4.0 revolution and on digital construction. At 6.40 p.m., a debate open to businesses will take place.

The professorship is located at IB-S, in the Gualtar (Braga) and Azurém (Guimarães) campi. Its aim is to rethink the construction industry and reinvent it, providing technological solutions to balance the built and natural environments through a multidisciplinary approach. The focus of this professorship will be on building information modelling, project-production integration, materials, innovative systems or building rehabilitation in the circular economy.
