The European University Association (EUA) is leading an initiative to identify relevant agents for knowledge creation, dissemination and transfer. UMinho was invited to be part of a case study to identify trends showing the vital contribution of the university to regional development.
An EUA delegation will visit UMinho between April 11th and April 13th, with the purpose of getting to know the university’s innovation ecosystem, aimed at highlighting the contribution of universities to identifying trends, to building regional research and innovation capabilities to sustain competitiveness, to stimulating innovation in local businesses and in providing highly qualified human resources.
Under this initiative, part of the Innovation Ecosystem project, and during this visit, several of the regional key players will be interviewed, as well as the rectorate team, the university’s management body, professors, researchers, technical staff and students.
This study is being conducted all over the European continent in 10 selected universities that characterise different types of innovation ecosystems. Choosing UMinho for this study, and being the only Portuguese university involved, will contribute to establishing UMinho’s image in Europe, on what concerns its innovation ecosystem.
