Cristina Dias is a Full Professor at the School of Law of the University of Minho (EDUM) and a researcher at the School’s Research Centre for Justice and Governance (JusGov). She was President of EDUM (2020-2023 and 2023-2025), Director of the Master's Degree in Children, Family and Succession Law and member of the PhD in Legal Sciences’ course committee, having previously been Vice-President of EDUM and President of the Pedagogical Council (2014-2017 and 2017-2020), Director of the Bachelor's Degree in Law, member of the EDUM’s School Council and the Scientific Council. 

Her research and teaching areas focus on Family Law, Succession Law, and Children's Law. She has participated in research projects in these areas, in numerous national and international congresses and conferences, and various study sessions organized by various legal entities (Bar Association, Centre for Judicial Studies, Legal Associations). 

She has published close to a dozen books and more than 100 articles in collective works, journals, and conference proceedings, and is frequently cited in legal doctrine and case law. She is a member of relevant scientific associations and entities, such as the Associação Jurídica de Braga, the Centro de Direito da Família de Coimbra, the International Society of Family Law, the Academia Internacional de Derecho de Sucesiones and the Law and Society Association.
