Description

The Licenciature in Physics is an undergraduate Physics Degree that aims to provide solid and broad scientific background in its various areas. These include both classical physics - mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, thermodynamics, and statistical physics, as well as modern physics - quantum mechanics, condensed matter physics, atomic physics, and nuclear and particle physics. The course also has a strong experimental component.
The course comprises six semesters, with two alternative routes: Physics and Physics with a minor in Chemistry. In the last semester, the students have the opportunity to perform work in a research laboratory environment or in a company. This opportunity is seen as an initiation to professional work in Physics.
Due to its broad character, the Licenciature in Physics provides access to a wide range of master courses, where licensees can deepen their knowledge and get specialized training in an area of their choice, including qualification for teaching.
Given its broad nature and taking into account the experience of past years, the licensees are able to perform work in research laboratories and university research centers, and to perform technical functions and consultancy in areas as diverse as industry, medical centers, and financial companies.
