Description
The course has a strong component of Chemical Engineering, aiming at training Process Engineers for industries where biological, chemical or physics-chemical processes are predominant. Their specific intervention areas are related to multidisciplinary domains of Biological and Chemical Science and Technology, Fermentation and Pharmaceutical industries, agro and food industries, Chemical industry and Biomedical and Environmental areas. The graduates will be competent professionals able to collaborate with the cleanup and quality control sectors of these industries, or to start a research career in the aforementioned domains. The education of biological engineers is based on a solid training in basic sciences in the domains of Biological Engineering and also in a deep knowledge of curricular units related to Biological Engineering, adequately combining theory and practice.
