Summer on Campus takes place every year in July, in Braga and Guimarães, and aims to be not just a learning space for young secondary school students, but also to foster a spirit of teamwork, friendship bonds and mutual trust, through various educational, recreational and cultural activities carried out within a university environment. Students will also have the opportunity to get to know the cities of Braga and Guimarães, to socialise with colleagues from different geographical regions and to learn while having fun trying out the scientific, cultural and sports activities on offer.
With a programme covering different scientific areas, non-formal education activities will be carried out in the fields of architecture, mathematics, chemistry, archaeology, sociology, law, education, engineering and letters.
In all tasks the participants will be accompanied by teachers, researchers and students of the University - the “UMinho godparents”.
In short, young people will have the opportunity to spend a different kind of holiday, together with students and teachers from the University of Minho, in the institution’s facilities, and will be able to learn while having fun, while discovering the scientific area that best fits their preferences and aptitudes.
