The pioneer spirit of UMinho on Open Science is reflected in the requirements suggested or even demanded by most science funders, including those of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), set out in its "New Policy on Open Access to Scientific Publications", published in February 2025.
The Scientific Information, Repositories and Open Science Office (GGICRCA), part of the Libraries and Documentation Service (USDB) of the University of Minho, is the branch responsible for promoting Open Science at the institutional level: On its website, one will find all the available information and resources for the academic community. Additionally, it serves as a national hub for Open Science, maintaining the "Open Science" blog, where up-to-date and relevant news and publications on the topic can be found, and where its newsletter can be subscribed.
