Description


The Master's Degree in Design and Innovation of Textile Products and Accessories proposes a postgraduate specialization in various areas related to the fashion industry and technical aspects of textiles and accessories. The curriculum covers the entire spectrum of these applications, with optional courses that allow students to acquire additional skills, representing added value to their education. Special emphasis is given to the development of practical projects, developed individually or in groups.
Graduates from this course will act in the creation of differentiated products/brands, with high added value and impact on the sustainability of companies. They will play a relevant role in forming multidisciplinary teams with structured, transversal, and integrated skills to manage the entire process of market knowledge and product and brand creation that correspond to new market opportunities and/or the creation of real value for their target audiences. Professionals trained in this course will also play a fundamental role in the development of R&D activities in the area of Design and Innovation of Textile Products and Accessories, taking into account the specificities of the knowledge domains that are integrated.

Key learning outcomes


1. Provide advanced and cutting-edge training in Design and Innovation of Textile Products and Accessories, corresponding to the needs of creating differentiated products/brands with high added value and impact on the sustainability of companies.
2. Promote the formation of multidisciplinary teams with structured and integrated skills to manage the entire process of market knowledge and product and brand creation that correspond to new market opportunities and/or the creation of real value for their target audiences.
3. Create conditions for the development of R&D activities in the areas of Design and Innovation of Textile Products and Accessories, taking into account the specificities of the knowledge domains that are integrated and the strong industrial representation in the region.
4. Train professionals who, in addition to a strong scientific and technological component in the specific areas of the course, are capable of integrating work teams in related areas and developing themselves professionally autonomously and robustly.

Access to higher education


This course provides technical and scientific capacity to access 3rd cycle courses (PhD), namely in Fashion and Product Design, Marketing, Branding, and related areas.

Careers


Product designers, product managers, marketing managers, communication and image managers in textile/clothing/accessories supply chain companies or related fields. Managers of R&D activities related to product development, market research, and marketing approaches. Their training also allows them to adapt to product development and marketing interventions in other industrial areas.

Entry requirements


The following candidates may apply to the course
- Graduates in Fashion Design and Marketing, Clothing Design, Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Marketing and related fields, or legally equivalent qualifications;
- The holders of a foreign higher academic degree in the above areas conferred following a first cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of Bologna by a state adhering to this process;
- The holders of a foreign higher academic degree inn the above areas that is recognized by the Scientific/Technical-scientific council of the School of Engineering as meeting the objectives of the BSc degree;
- The holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific/Technical-scientific council of the School of Engineering as conferring the capacity to carry out this study cycle.
