A master degree gives access to apply for the 3rd cycle of higher education studies (doctorate or PhD level).

The assessment of the employability of graduates of this cycle of studies will be made by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, as it is the first time it will be offered; previously teacher training in this area was mainly carried out within the designated in-service teacher training process and only now it is framed into a Masters Programme. However, empirical data collected in contacts with Basic and Secondary Schools in the region show that there is a huge demand for qualified and trained teachers in the area of Informatics, either because it
is a growing area, or because the percentage of professionalized teachers is inferior to other curriculum subjects. In addition, it is recognized that the group 550, to which this cycle of studies addresses, lacks qualified teachers.
