Description
The BA degree in Portuguese Studies aims to provide a general and interdisciplinary training through the study of the Portuguese language in its European and non-European variants, and the study of Portuguese culture and literature, Brazilian and African Portuguese-speaking, and a solid background in classical studies. Having as prefered horizon of employability the areas of culture and education, a BA degree in Portuguese Studies proposes literacy models not confined to the natural language, enabling its graduates to teach and to act appropriately in the new permeated contexts of "media "and the new behaviors and cultural languages.
Key learning outcomes
1. Identify theoretical and methodological models from the fields of Theory of Literature, Comparative Literature, Literatures of Portuguese Expression (Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde), Brazilian Literature and Culture, Classical Culture, Portuguese Linguistics, General Linguistics, Philosophy and Culture.
2. Reveal extensive knowledge in the following areas: Portuguese Literature; Literatures of Portuguese Expression; Portuguese language; General Linguistics; Theory of Literature; Comparative Literature; Classical culture; Philosophy and Culture.
3. Acquiring literacy models.
4. Build a solid formation in Portuguese language and its European and non-European variants.
