The University of Minho, in Northern Portugal, plays a central role in the region as an important national reference and an institution recognized at a European and worldwide level. Since its foundation, the University has been spread over two cities – therefore, based on two major hubs –, namely Braga and Guimarães. It should be noted that Braga is the third largest Portuguese city, born of the ancient Roman city of Bracara Augusta and that Guimarães was classified as Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, and is also known to be the cradle of the nation. The infrastructure and facilities of the University are quite diverse. It has several emblematic buildings, important to the history of the city of Braga and located in the urban centre, as is the case with the Largo do Paço building (former Archiepiscopal Palace), the Congregados building and the Nogueira da Silva Museum. In the three Campuses - Gualtar Campus, in Braga, Azurém and Couros Campuses, in Guimarães -, the University stands out with its reference modern infrastructures and for being open to the community and to the world as a multicultural and multilingual space.

Considering the diversity and the quality of the built heritage of the University of Minho and the increasing demand on the part of external entities for the implementation of initiatives, this publication intends to be a summary of all the facilities and venues available for a wide range of events. For each venue, you will find a list of the major characteristics, the basic amenities and the types of events that it can accommodate.
