Braga e Guimarães

The UMinho Welcome Programme for new students takes place between September 11th and 22th. Enrollment take place during the first week, whilst the second week includes student-bonding activities. The event is organised by the Students’ Union and UMinho. On September 18th the students will have a chance to get to know the university’s Schools and Institutes. After lunch at the canteen, a welcome ceremony with the rector António M. Cunha will take place at the Gualtar Sports Pavilion. For after-working hours students, the event will take place later in the afternoon. Several cultural activites are planned, such as the AAUM-Paper", "Caloiro de Molho” and concerts.

September 11th to September 15th
Enrollment Week (Welcome Message from the Rector video)

September 11th
10 a.m. | Orientation Day for exchange students, at the Gualtar campus and the Bom Jesus, em Braga (until 6 p.m.)

September 15th to October 29th
"Encontros da Imagem - International Photography and Visual Arts Festival in Braga, Guimarães, Barcelos, Famalicão and Porto, featuring exhibitions in five UMinho venues

September 18th
9 a.m. | Presentation of the UMinho’s Schools and Institutes in the Gualtar, Braga and Azurém (Guimarães) campi
Noon | Lunch at the Gualtar canteen with the Rector
4.30 p.m. | Welcome session for new students with the Rector, at the Gualtar Sports Centre in Braga
9.30 p.m. | Cultural Soirée at the “natural auditorium” of the Gualtar campus

September 19th
10 a.m. | Lecture by the IPST (Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplant) at the Gualtar campus
2 p.m. | AAUM-Paper at the Azurém and Gualtar campi
8 p.m. | Arraial Azeiteiro by the Gualtar campus

September 20th
2 p.m. | “Caloiro de Molho”, at the Rodovia swimming pools in Braga

September 25th
7. p.m. | Cultural soirée at Azurém campus gardens in Guimarães

September 27th
3 p.m. | Concert by the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, at the Main Auditorium of the Azurém campus in Guimarães
9 p.m. | Freshers' Dinner at the KeimÒdrumo? in Braga September

28nd to September 30th
Autumn Festival, at various venues in Braga and Guimarães

October 3rd
10 p.m. | “Serenatas Velhas” at the Largo da Oliveira in Guimarães

October 4th
2 p.m. | “Latada” in the streets of the Guimarães’s old town centre

October 4th to October 7th
11 p.m. | Freshers’ Welcome Concerts, at the Multipurpose Arena of Guimarães
