Conferência Arqus “Ensino Superior e Direitos Humanos”

A diretora do Centro de Estudos em Genocídio e Direitos Humanos da Universidade Nacional de Kiev-Mohyla (Ucrânia), Myroslava Antonovych, proferiu a 3 de outubro, às 15h00, a Conferência Arqus “Ensino Superior e Direitos Humanos”, na Biblioteca Pública de Braga.

A intervenção analisou o papel das instituições académicas na preparação de cidadãos mais conscientes do valor social dos direitos humanos. A iniciativa teve entrada livre e a moderação do pró-reitor para os Assuntos Estudantis e Inovação Pedagógica da Universidade do Minho, Manuel João Costa.

Myroslava Antonovych esteve na UMinho durante a primeira semana de outubro. No dia 4 fez também uma apresentação sobre o rapto e a transferência de crianças ucranianas pela Rússia. A sessão foi às 15h00, na Escola de Direito (EDUM), em Braga, contando com comentários de Assunção do Vale Pereira e a moderação de Patrícia Jerónimo, ambas professoras da EDUM.

Os eventos estiveram inseridos nas atividades da aliança europeia Arqus, que junta as universidades de Granada (Espanha), Graz (Áustria), Leipzig (Alemanha), Lyon1 (França), Maynooth (Irlanda), Minho (Portugal), Pádua (Itália), Vilnius (Letónia), Wrocław (Polónia) e a de Kiev-Mohyla como parceira.

Arqus Conference “Higher Education and Human Rights”

The Braga Public Library, in Portugal, will host the Arqus Conference “Higher Education and Human Rights” on October 3rd, at 3 pm. The session features the speech of professor Myroslava Antonovych, from the National University of Kiev-Mohyla, in Ukraine, focusing on the role of higher education institutions in preparing citizens who are more aware of the social value of human rights. The chairman will be the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Pedagogical Innovation of University of Minho, Manuel João Costa.

Myroslava Antonovych will be at UMinho in the first week of next month. On the October 4, at 3 pm, at the Law School of UMinho, she will also talk about the abduction and transfer of Ukrainian children by Russia. This session includes a commentary by Assunção do Vale Pereira and the chairwoman Patrícia Jerónimo, both professors at the Law School of UMinho.
