Seminar and Workshop

The School of Architecture, Art and Design at the University of Minho is organising the Workshop and the Exhibition "Original Copies: Exploring Biomaterials in the Creation of Unique Pieces. Workshop for the Production of a Lamp Using Local Organic Waste", by designer Raúl Pinto.
The Seminar will take place via Zoom on 7 December, from 16:30 to 17:30.

The Workshop will take place in person on 11 January 2024, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm (room to be determined) at Garagem Avenida in Guimarães.

These two initiatives, led by designer Raúl Pinto, are organized by Professors Paula Trigueiros

“Design, being a discipline that focuses on form-giving, cannot design life itself as it has no perceivable material dimension. Instead, designers tend to manipulate the fostering substrate of living systems to obtain certain outco-mes. Design in this context becomes a negotiator between the agendas of both humans and non-humans, and requires a high level of solidarity.

” Raúl Pinto is a designer and founder of EstúdioAma (http://www.amadesign.net). He also teaches Industrial Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Izmir, Turkey.
