Objectives and Operation

Objetives

This programme is intended for UMinho students to identify and develop interdisciplinary competences associated with relevant professional paths::

  • To help students learn about the realities of the job market and career options, to help them reflect on their goals and career path, better preparing them for entry into the job market;
  • To develop students’ skills, improving them personally and professionally through an experience that complements their academic training;
  • To contribute so that students have access to new opportunities to get to know the job market.

Operation

The Programme lasts for approximately one academic semester, from March to July. It begins with an opening session, followed by a brief explanatory session about the programme, its objectives and operating rules.
The mentoring sessions take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis, with an average duration of two hours. In these mentoring sessions, mentees will be invited to observe the day-to-day professional life of their mentor, identifying the soft skills associated with a successful professional.
The programme has a middle session and ends with a closing session, where all mentors and mentees are present.
The Programme includes formal assessment procedures.

Certificate

At the end of the Programme all mentors and mentees will receive a certificate.
