Since the creation of the department of Education in 1974, the Institute of Education (IE) has had the mission to develop teaching projects, research and interaction with the community, in the field of Education, to contribute to the development and well-being of individuals and groups as well as educational and social organizations. The teaching activity of the Institute of Education is spread over undergraduate courses, Masters and PhDs, in its own school and others shared by Uminho. It continues to cover advanced level scientific internships, PhDs in partnership with foreign universities, and post-doctoral programs.
